Take part in the Hide and Seek Christmas Art Trail. From 8th November to 2nd January, explore shops and businesses in Taunton, each displaying a character from the Wind in the Willows. When you have found them all, including the one at Mr Miles, take your map back to Taunton Brewhouse for your chance to win a copy of the book ‘Wind in the Willows’ and tickets to watch the show!

Maps are available from the Brewhouse and Taunton Visitor Centre.

New Winter Menu Out Now!

Our winter menu is out now featuring new dishes including beef stew and chicken stir fry and every day we will have a homemade soup available. We also have a new dessert menu. Remember we don’t take bookings for lunches, so just come in and we will seat you as quickly as possible. Click below to view our menu.

Rotary Club of Taunton Vale Moonraker Challenge

The annual Rotary Club of Taunton Vale Moonraker Challenge took place on 2nd October. Around 50 teams entered this year to take on the night walk course, a cross between orienteering and a treasure hunt, over 8 miles or 16 miles. Congratulations to team “In It To Win It” who won the long course and to the “Dark Horses” who won the short course. The Rotary club are on target to raise £11,000 for local charities.

Mr Miles was pleased to contribute by making soup for all the participants from vegetables supplied by Granny Smiths. We might even enter a team ourselves next year!

North Curry Bells Appeal

We are happy to be supporting North Curry Bells appeal by making a donation to their charity auction in their effort to raise £150000 to replace the frame and fittings of the bells.

“Bells have rung in North Curry church since at least the reign of Henry VIII. Half of the current bells are already over 200 years old.

But the bells can no longer be rung as before. The frame and fittings that support them, and the bells themselves, are wearing out. It is no longer safe to ring the largest bells together.”
