In elegant surroundings, customers can sample a wide range of the finest teas and coffees, with light meals and cakes also available, cooked in-house, using locally sourced ingredients.Mr Miles Tea Rooms & Coffee House has come about as a joint venture between D J Miles & Co Ltd and Taunton businessman Mr. Collin Barrell. Our customers also have the oppertunity to purchase their teas and coffees in the retail shop whilst they enjoyed a relaxing visit to the tea rooms. Miles Tea & CoffeeuBased in the heart of West Somerset in both Porlock and Minehead, Miles has built a reputation of roasting the finest quality coffee and blending the finest teas.Miles was originally Founded by Henry Miles the grandfarther of Derek Miles in Bermingham in 1888. The company which specialised in blending teas was later run by Derek's farther and uncle.. Derek set up his own tea company in Porlock in 1961 and in 1974 purchased the Birmingham business with friend Norman Halls incorporating it into D J Miles & Co Ltd.

When you visit our shop you will find a comprehensive range of Miles Tea and Coffees and many other gift items associated with the experience of drinking tea and coffee.

We have everything from teapots and cafetieres to mugs and cake tins. Our range is constantly expanding and we have new items arriving most weeks.

Functions

If you are looking for a venue to hold an event, then we may be able to help.We can cater for anything from a business breakfast to a full range of meals in the evenings. We can offer the private use of our upstairs Grand Room in the mornings from 7.30a.m. until 9.30 a.m. or, if it is an evening function you are looking for, we can use the whole building for your event from Mondays to Thursdays from6.30p.m. onwards. We do have a full license so can supply a range of drinks and we can discuss your menu requirements with our team of chefs.Our most recent events have seen groups of between 25 and 70 people where the food ranged from hot and cold buffets to a choice of two or three course meals followed by our own fine teas or coffees to finish.Whatever your requirements we would be happy to discuss the possibilities.
